The Containment

[ The Containment ] - It’s a story of a traveler that stumbles upon this structure beyond human compression that predates him by millions of years that’s suspending something eerie, nobody knows what it is but something to be not messed with.

A small project I did for Grady Fredreick’s course at New3dge.
The frames aren’t in sequence but definitely aimed to be in the same period it was my attempt to put together things shared/taught by Grady about iterations, notans, compression, framing, mood & cinema into concept art. Grady is a Phenomenal mentor.

I love how naturally this project evolved it began with laying down a strong composition following a Notan of it then developing it into a quick 2D painting. Keeping the essence of the elements I made few other variations (I should explore more certainly in future). At first the structures were supposed to be quite revealing of what they are like a sci-fi tower or something but I wanted to push that eerie emotion and so, revised the initial drafts and quickly modelled in 3D coat/blender voila :D it’s interesting isn’t it all began with a napkin notan sketch hahaha ✨
